Text Align Property

Jump to: navigation, search

The text-align property influcences the alignment of inline content (such as text and images[1]) within the block element the property is applied to.

Generally body text is either left aligned (so the left edge is straight) or justified (so both the left and right edges are straight). Headings are usually left aligned, but sometimes centred.

It should be noted that fully justified text is measurably more difficult then left aligned text when viewed on screen.

[1] Given that their display and float properties are left at the default (inline, none).
