Tarquin is a presence on far too many wikis.

I've taken the liberty of adding a Tour Bus Stop, which connects this wiki to others.

Ramblings on CSS

  • I wish CSS absolutes & fixed could be made to affect flow! It violates Wiki: The Dry Principle to have to set the width of something in two places: first as the width itself and then as the margin of the flowing body text.
  • it would be nice to be able to define colour keywords at the head of a CSS document. Again, it would avoid repeating onesself.
  • why should floats push flowing content? Why shouldn't absolutes and fixeds?
  • new position type ("position:anchored"?) is needed to replace the absolute-within-relative trick... and why do these leave behind a "shadow" in the flow? Sure it might be useful, but why force it?
